I’ve been working with my Matt for the past 18 months to improve my vocals and the progress I’ve made in that time has been incredible. Matt’s lessons are always supportive, encouraging, and tailored to my goals. I’ve gained so much more confidence in my voice, improved my technique, increasing my range and I genuinely look forward to every lesson. Matt creates such a comfortable and motivating environment, which makes learning both enjoyable and effective. Matt was recommended to me from a good friend when I was struggling with confidence and anxiety on stage. His unique method of teaching is inspiring and patient yet encouraging. I felt fully supported as he pushed me out of my comfort zone and onto stages and then into song writing. His skills help you break down song structure and work on breathing techniques and vocal drills to improve your voice. 12 years later I still turn to Matt for support and guidance when I have performances coming up :)
When I initially went to see Matt for singing lessons, it would be fair to say that my singing voice wasn’t particularly good. I genuinely didn’t hold out too much hope as I’d had singing lessons in the past, without seeing any real signs of improvement. Fast forward a couple of years later with Matt’s help, I now often have people compliment me on my singing, even on a professional basis, whereby I’ve submitted my own music, and cover songs that I’ve recorded. I genuinely couldn’t recommend Matt highly enough!
I first went to Matt ten years ago not because I wanted to be a singer, but because I needed to build my confidence in public speaking. What I didn't expect was to fall completely in love with singing too, and that's the Matt effect! From the very first lesson, his warm and encouraging approach put me at ease, and over the years I have genuinely surprised myself with what I've achieved. His lessons are always energising, interesting, and fun, never a dull moment, and always leaving you wanting more. Matt's versatility is something else. I've brought him into workshops and events I've delivered professionally, and he went down an absolute storm every time. More recently, he's even been helping me with Spanish songs to complement my language learning, taking it completely in his stride. If you are looking for a teacher who meets you exactly where you are, champions what you're capable of, and makes the whole journey genuinely enjoyable, Matt is your person. I cannot recommend him highly enough.
I had a great experience learning to sing with Matt. I had no prior experience in singing, and he very much put me at ease and helped build my confidence. Lessons were dynamic and fun and not overly technical, as that wasn’t really what I was looking for. I studied singing with Matt for a couple of years. I had other teachers previously but still felt I had a lot to learn. Whilst learning with Matt, I learned how to control vibrato. I learned not just how to place my voice ie , chest mix and head. But also how each felt. Apart from being an excellent teacher, I found him funny and interesting. Quite refreshing.
He is the best! Book him you won’t regret it. Really fun learning curve and you will surprise your self at what your voice is capable of. Heaps of fun too. Plus a lovely bloke.
